A little jewel from the past

When I was in Poland this time, I found a little jewel: a piece of paper from my notebook from 1995, when I was ten years old. It's a record from a reading that my grandma did for me. She was using normal playing cards (with 9, 10, Ace and the courts only). The spread has a gypsy feel to it and I think that the whole style of reading my grandma used was of a gypsy origin. It can be easily used for reading with tarot and it gives surprisingly deep readings. I spread it like this: cards 1-3 in lowest row, cards 4-6 in higher row, card 7 on the highest row, in the center. Why don't you try! :)

1. What was.
2. What is.
3. What will be.
4. What has to be.
5. What for your house.
6. What you don't know.
7. What's in your heart.

What happened?

Recently I was wondering, what happened to one of my favourite writers from teenage times. She used to write funny and warm books, now she turned into a preaching author and turned her characters into a parody of their old selves. Also, her texts that used to be smooth and easy to read, now are simply boring and irritating.

1. What's in her head. 3 of Swords (Rx).
2. What's in her heart. IV Emperor.
3. The reason for the change. V The Hierophant.

3 of Swords stands for sharpness of mind, smartness. As it is reversed, I see it as her mind loosing it's sharpness with age (although she's not THAT old!). In her heart she wants everything to be in order and to be the master of the situation. The reason for it all... the need to proove her own truths, to be a teacher of the youth. And maybe too strong a turn into religious zeal?

My dancing class

I decided to start giving Nihon Buyo dancing classes (I recently got a permission from my sensei) and put an advertisement about it. Then I pulled the cards to see what to expect in the next 3 weeks. I used reversals this time, because recently I'm trying to figure them out (my tarot books are still on their way!).
I used the Star spread.
The situation: XVII The Star (reversed=Rx).
What helps: 6 of Swords.
What is against: Ace of Wands (Rx).
The first week: Knight of Wands (Rx)
The second week: XIX The Sun (Rx)
The third week: 10 of Pentacles
Result: III The Empress
I don't think I should read reversals as the opposites, only as weakened meanings of the cards. So it seems that there is some hope, but not much. Advertising via Internet is good (that's what I did), for swords stand for communication and 6 is a balanced number. As for the Ace of Wands I thought it's very hot recently and people won't have energy in them to try something new. The first week, Knight/Wands - actually two people answered, but none of them can start classes. One of them didn't exclude attending my class when she's back to Switzerland (Knight - travelling). The second week promises some interested people again, but probably without good result. The third week looks like I could earn some money. The Empress as a result... I'm not sure. It could mean I'll be sitting with my hands in my lap waiting for students. Or maybe I'll earn some money. We will see!

Buying books about tarot

I have some collection of books about tarot already (among which my favourites are those by Hajo Banzhaf), but I found three more that I would like to buy. It would be best to buy them together, since I'll be buying from american Amazon, so buying one by one is not the best solution. I asked my cards how I would be happy with them.
1. Learning Tarot Reversals by Joan Bunning. Ace of Swords.
2. The Way of Tarot by Alejandro Jodorowsky. 4 of Wands.
3. The Tarot Court Cards by Kate Warwick-Smith. 8 of Pentacles.

The most promising one is the first one (Ace of Swords). It should broaden my knowledge very much. But others are also not bad cards for learning, although with the third one I will have to study hard to get good results. All in all it seems a worthy buy.

Who's guilty?

I've been to Poland for two weeks and I couldn't update here, for I was very busy. I hope that now that I'm back I will be able to write more regularly again.

We still have problems with our computer. My husband insists that it's the graphics card, tarot insists on the opposite! I actually made a spread to find out what is wrong.
1. Motherboard. VII The Chariot.
2. Memory. 3 of Swords.
3. Processor. XXI The World.
4. Graphics card. 10 of Pentacles.
5. (in the middle) Advice. 3 of Cups.

From this spread it seems that the memory is guilty. However, my husband tested it some time ago and the tests went OK. So we'll be probably exchanging the graphics card again... >.>
Anyway, the cards say that the motherboard is perfectly fine (VII), so is the processor (XXI) and graphics card (10/Pent). The advice is to ask someone for help, I suppose.
